        • CBCA Publicity Services Tender

We are seeking the services of a responsive publicist prepared to engage with the CBCA and its activities and, in doing so, meaningfully promote the organisation to reflect its vision and mission.

        • Vale Steph Bowe

We were deeply saddened to learn of Australian YA author Steph Bowe's death at age 25 due to complications from an aggressive form of leukemia. Bowe published her debut novel Girl Saves Boy in 2010 at age 16. She wrote a further two novels All This Could End and Night Swimming which were longlisted for the 2014 Gold Inky Award and CBCA Older Reader Book of the Year 2018 respectively. She was a May Gibbs Children's Literature Trust fellow in 2016 and a Schools Ambassador for the Stella Prize. Her editor Penny Hueston at Text Publishing wrote:

        • Books for Bushfires national appeal

Please support this CBCA national appeal by donating money to buy books for children and young adults affected by the bushfire crisis. As Australia, her communities, people, flora and fauna, faces the most catastrophic summer of fires and smoke, the CBCA is calling for support to encourage hope, resilience and optimism. We know that story, and story in books in particular, can effect real change in us, both adults and children.

Established in 1945, the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is a not-for-profit, volunteer run organisation which aims to engage the community with literature for young Australians.

The CBCA presents annual awards to books of literary merit, for outstanding contribution to Australian children's literature.

In 2015, the CBCA celebrated 70 years of enjoying and promoting the best of Australian literature for children and young people.
